WATERTOWN — On Saturday, March 9, Watertown’s Black Magic Robotics Team took part in their first competition of the season at Wilby High School. Black Magic placed 25th out of 32. While this wasn’t the outcome they expected, they are proud of the hard work they put into the robot and their teamwork during competition. In two weeks, the team will be competing at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, in hopes of placing higher to be able to go to the District Championship.

WATERTOWN — Jersey Mike’s will hold their Day of Giving on Wednesday, March 27 at 595 Straits Turnpike when they will donate 100% of their sales to the Make-A Wish organization. Jersey Mike’s across Connecticut have been raising money all month long for Make-A-Wish Connecticut.

WOODBURY — The Woodbury Library will host the “Friendly Forest: Encaustic Art by Lola Baltzell” exhibit in the Gallery Space from April 1 through 30 at 269 Main St. S. A reception will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 in the Library Gallery Space. Lola Baltzell grew up in rural northwest Iowa, and when she was very young, her mother would invite her to explore the woods behind their farmhouse. She called it the "friendly forest.”
